Education

I’ve had extensive education throughout my life, both formal and informal, in and out of the classroom.

High School

I graduated from Appleton West High School in 2017. I also went to a charter school, Renaissance School for the Arts, all four years of my high school career. I excelled in honors level English through RSA. I took creative writing courses for the majority of my semesters at RSA, including Beginning and Advanced Creative Writing, Play Writing, Interpersonal Relationships (a journal class), and Poetry. I was a member of the AW Speech and Forensics team for three years, and my senior year I was co-captain and won gold at state.

College

I went to the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater right out of high school. I started in the summer of 2017, taking introduction to college courses. I graduated in August 2023 with a Professional Writing and Publishing degree and a Creative Writing minor. Throughout my college career, I’ve taken many English, writing, and editing courses, including Literature on Film, Publication Development, Advanced Writer’s Studio, American Literature, Manuscript Editing, Fiction Writing, Grammar of Standard Written English, Creative Nonfiction, Writing for the Web, Writing in the Sciences, Reading as Writers, Prose Stylistics, Found Writing and Editing, Critical Writing, Creative Writing, Style: Principals and Practices, and Literature for Adolescents.

Grad School

I’ve been accepted into the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee for the fall of 2026. I look forward to pursuing my Master’s in Library Media and Information Sciences alongside earning my teaching license.

Outside the Classroom

I have continued my education throughout my life, taking many classes and certifications to keep my worldview flexible and my mind sharp. I am CPR, AED, and First Aid certified for adults, children, and infants. I am trained in Ukeru deescalation, Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, and have Mandated Reporter training. I am a certified trainer in Handle With Care verbal and physical deescalation techniques as well as the Acceptional Minds Method.

Community Building

I strive to learn about the world around me and the people in it by keeping up with various courses and seminars from community educational centers. I enjoy watching webinars and seminars, participating in lectures and workshops, and attending conferences. The topics I’m most interested in include nature, education, and human rights.
